Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Now the ones i'm talking about are indicator etc *tongue*

What i'm after are cars that have indicators, wipers and lights all on 2 stalks. I believe the Mpi/sportspack era did?

I want to get away with no switches on the dash as i havent got a switch pod bar an ignition and starter button.

The other thing is it needs to be bigger through the centre than the mini one, as my column is 40mm in diameter compared to 20-25mm of the std mini (although sportspack may be bigger?)

Then i can go down the scrappy to start eyeing some up.

Only others i can think of are the later rover 200's/mgf's etc (probably the same as the sportspacks! ha ha!)

I brought a set off Rover 200 stalks a while back with the same intention (I wanted ones with a rear wiper for the BOC) but they don't fit on the Mini steering column. I've also got a Montego (or could be Mastero) column complete with stalks that I'm going to fit to the clubby, I reckon that they might fit on a Mini column, I'll check on the weekend.

As an aside having seen the wiring in your can, do you really want to make any more mods to the loom?!

Ha ha,

Non of that loom exists anymore.

It was purely thrown in to get the lights etc to work for Avon and MITP *wink*

It was always my intention to wire it up properly this winter with a new dashboard etc

Carnforth, Lancs

Do you have a steering column cowling? If you ignition and start button elsewhere then remove the barrel and put a rotary light switch in its place - I did this and it works well.

I think there is details on another forum, possibly TMF, about how to drill out the later MPi stalks to fit an early column - therefore I doubt you could drill them out further to fit an even larger diameter column.

did the metro, meastro and montego not share the same column switches? I never checked but I do recall they appeared the same in the cars I had (just admitted owning a montego there - back to rehab!)

my steering column is mounted off the roll cage, basically a tube with bearings in each end and a snap off steering wheel.

Its going to be an all new setup so there are no restrictions on what i can do. to make life easy though i was want it to go over the tube.

the 400 looks the best option at the minute.

there will be no cowl round it i would of thought once its all done. hence wanting a fairly neat option like the 400 which wouldnt look out of place in its own. you wont see any wires as they'll go under the dash.
