i'm just starting a a clubman turbo project and was hoping you'd have some recomedations on engine and gearbox builders/recondioners as i'm not that sure about doing it myself i've heard rumours in various places about dodgy engine builds by med but i cant confirm this so was hoping you could give some recommendations it will be my everyday car so reliability is the priority but would like to be able to waste a few modern cars now and again also what r the first mods i should go for as i've aquired a modded plenumn chamber with dump valve pipe and the bend of the tube is cut off for use of an intercooler much appreciated from dave
PS please post replys in simpleton terms and not to techy thanks *happy*

Depends what you want to pay and time scale.

I've heard good things about Rob Walker and Brian Slark also did a great job on my cylinder head.

Stuart Gurr is also back on the scene (see http://www31.brinkster.com/vmaxscart/) He is Mr Turbo in my view.

Either that or see if TurboDave will help on advice.

These are all personal opinions, as this is a mine field.

This guy will build you a better turbo engien than MED or Avonbar, and it'll go a lot better, and last longer...

One thing Stuart is doing to which I think would be great for a Turbo Engine is a 5 speed box where the first four a S/C C/R and the 5th is Hilecular (spelt right?) for Motorway work. Great for getting to the track!

It's called the weekend racer. Very tempted.

not going in too deep and starting a big argument , but helical boxes are strong as if not stronger the sc .
as for close ratio the sc box has a longer first than the helical and we all know what thats for !!
and with stuart gurr at least you know your getting the genuine vmax head as a lot of peple claim to have his heads!!!

Everyone knows that instructions only have to be read if the thing doesn't work....

Can Stuarts boxes really take the torque of a turbo engine? How much are they?
