had me stumped...

Think this is the one that MiniWilliams saw in an earlier incarnation some time ago at a different show...

Looks like a compressor off a truck, which probably has a big flowrate, so doesn't need to be spun at a huge RPM like a normal turbo...

Even so; Still interesting and worthy of praise for trying something different!!!

Still wondering how it's driven though!

It looks like it has a gerbil wheel just above the flywheel housing. I guess the faster the gerbils run the quicker the compressor spins.

I just wonder how he gets the gerbils to run faster as he accelerates?

Maybe there is a bicyclle dynamo hidden inside the flywheel housing that is connected to contacts on the gerbils ar5e?

Hi everyone

I saw this at Stanford and spoke to the bloke about it. He has machined the nose of the flywheel down to 9" and drives a belt up through the clutch housing to a small pulley, then another belt under the ali cover, again large to small to gear up, to drive the ex 6ltr Perkins diesel compressor.......

He said he's running about 14psi of boost so shouldn't be too bad........

Phil.

Hold on lads, I ve got an idea............

I saw this at standford and it looked tidy. Bit crowded round to get a good look at it though.
