Just wondered if anyone has come across this before?

Got the 1380 fired up on saturday, tweeked the timing a little, and went out for a short drive, it felt really strong, definitely an improvement!

Anyway, when i got back home i was just checking for leaks etc, and i noticed the offside pot joint seemed to have come out by about 3/4 of an inch!!

Any ideas?

Most likely that the spring clip on the diff output shaft has broken. It could be worse though, this happened to me and it wasn't the clip that had bust, the diff output shaft had sheered at the groove where the clip fits.

You will need to put a new clipon or it will keep doing the same.

Don't suppose its possible keeping the engine in the car?

i need to do the seals on the output shafts too!

Yes you can do it with the engine in as long as it just needs a new clip and seal.

I think you need to break the the balljoints and move the hub out so the pot joints can be released fully.

Don't forget to drain the oil first!

Yeah i'll definitely drain the oil, forgot that the other week when i took the other engine out!!
