Doing some modifications to a head at the moment, i'm just wondering what width i should leave the valve seat ? Obviously it should be a bit wider to deal with the heat, but what width is safe ?
I guess the inlet can go down to 0.040" or so without any real probs ?

Phil. :)

I think you've got your results bacwards there Ben. Most of the head is conducted by the valve seats. I'm using .040" exhaust as well. That suffices. I'm on .020" inlets.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

I thought 0.060" may have been to thin, but i guess it should be fine then, especially as you've gone even thinner V with no trouble !
I thought there was little or no advantage of going thinner than about 0.040" though ?
