I have a Facet Red Top Fuel Pump on my 1380... but it seems to intermittently failing. When cruising 3.5k+ after a while i feel the car seem to lose a little power. If I reach back and feel the fuel pump its vibrating more than usual. I give it a quick wiggle it goes back to normal and the engine picks up again.

I believe these pumps are re-buildable.. Anyideas where is start looking for a kit? Ive had a quick Google and a cant find much info.

You dont need a rebuild kit. Unscrew the end cap, pull the piston out and clean it.

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

i think Fastcarl may have this. Do you have a fuel filter before your pump ? Are there any obvious points that the line could becone air locked before the pump ?

Must be an interupter type if you think its rebuildable - large cylinder shape. If so it shouldn't air lock as these can suck quite well, however it may draw air if fuel level is low as Carl says.

But if fuel level is fine then take the bottom off, clean filter and internals and try it again.

it deffo not low fuel level as it does it with the tank full...

Could it have anything to do with tank breathers?

yes if they are blocked as the fuel cell will be in a vacume with the pump drawing fuel out, does it happen with the filler cap loose?
