finally fitted a pair of 32r's to mine at the weekend to replace the 008's and they feel a hell of a lot better, even in the rain. On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

13" 175 a048's aren't really motorway wet tyres as i found out today. not only does it like to tramline in the truck tracks and aquaplanes, but also likes to wiggle about! certainly an experience.

Well I thithered over going from 08s to 32s becasue my local tyre guy said "the first sign of rain you will be in the hedge". That hasn't been my experiance at all. Yes I have aquaplaned on standing water but it wasn't too bad for a small car with 10" wheels. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

i drive with 048's on the lotus every day and they're not too bad atall. standing water can be abit scary as they just seem to go over the top but apart from that if you take it easy in the wet its ok. difficult to get the heat into them that they need to be really grippy in the wet but in the dry they are pretty awesome (nic an vouch for that!)

turbo hogster - get the 048r's and you wont look back trust me, all other 13' tyres are gash, and if you dont kane it everywhere you might get 10k out of a set or 2 trips to the 'Ring TurboDave said

I can vouch for 10k out of 32's anyway, don't know about 48s. That's on tiny 10's too. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

539s were awful on snow and ice! I found them OK in the wet and wonderful on the dry, but I've never driven an R compound tire. They scared me on packed snow, and I don't scare easy having driven rear-wheel-drive cars on no-name tires in the snow for years. For winter I wound up getting 145/70R12 Nankang tires, which have been great. Blizzaks are apparently NLA in Mini sizes. 1275 with Back Door Turbo |

ive got 539's on mine and they are really good in the dry but if they arnt warm in the wet (lots of wheelspinning helped me) they just understeer or drift on the corners if your not careful. i cant wait for the snow though i have driven my dad 330 on the snow with no tread on the rears and 1.6mm on the front it was awsom but didnt go above 15mph lol.

I read somewhere that the "aquatusk" tread on 32s and 48s are designed for wet use. The name aquatusk says it all really.
I seriously doubt it! |

A friend of mine had a048r's on his 380bhp evo and in the wet on the road it was terrible cos he couldnt get enough heat in them, but we did a track day a croft and it pissed it down and they were brilliant.?

Nankang dry grip is very low relative to the Yokos. What I meant is they go well in the snow. I did have mine siped, where they make thin cuts across the tread. Supposed to improve snow grip a lot. 1275 with Back Door Turbo |
