Back to my ball joints *tongue*
These are the ball joints ive got.
http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=35318

Ive used ginding paste etc.
I have a total of 10thou worth of shims on 1 ball joint.
It's tight ish in the centre,
But round the edges it's very loose.
But if i go to 9thou, its tight as fu**, and cant even move it at all.
Unless i tap it hard ish with hammer *surprised*
Errmm this is doing my head in now lol
What shall i do.. leave it tight ? or what.

Cheers..

Non Genuine

More grinding paste by the sounds of it

This is my personal thought, but, I will always use genuine parts where its critical, such as ball joints. They take so much abuse and are the only things connecing the hub to the car.

One thing I do is shim them tight, then once you have driven down the road a few miles, they are usualy right. Its an old Rally trick, they would shim them tight, then by the time they have gone through scrutineering and got to the start line, they are just right. Rallying usualy wrecks the ball joint and they need replacing at least every other event, and sometimes during the event especialy if its the likes of the Rally GB.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Yes, non genuine ball joints are a disaster. I just set mine tight and they loosened up enough to need re-shiming once or twice. But they have settled in fine now.
