How many have you eaten then NIC?

Either way I wouldn't eat the plenum from you. That cost me a lot of money and besides I've got two spare cast ones!

And besides x2, I've got a lot of faith in steves work.

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

I've been using a 2WD cossie one, but I sold that and bought an alloy one...

It fits behind the front grille, but I think I'll still have to do a bit of chopping.

What do you guys think about these marks on the bores? I hadn't noticed it until last night (after half a bottle of scotch!)

2, 3 and 4 all look good... but 1 looks to have a score. You can feel it with a finger nail.

Do you think it's anything to worry about?

Edit: removed some images for all of the poor 56k'ers

wipout the pistons and hone it , looks to have picked up a bit ,maybe too small piston to bore clearance or a bit of detonation .

I've not had much time to work on my mini so progress has been slow.

After reading the motivation thread, I put together a list of things left to do. I've probably missed a few bits, but it's a start.

Fit Driveshafts,
Change CV boot L/S,
Fit gear linkage,
Bleed the clutch,
Fit the alternator,
Fit brake servo,
Bleed brakes,
Throttle and choke cables
Finnish wiring MJ,
Get running, tax, mot,
Rolling road

Nearly there

Can't wait to see this done. Agree with alex, lovely looking install. Makes me realise that mine is in dire need of tidying up.

They're hosted externally, so should be fine.

I haven't forgotten about the manifolds Rubicon. I will be down soon, just been busy trying to get my girlfriends mini 35 through an MOT.

I had mini13 over to have a look.

He felt that the marks were not as bad as the pics make out, but if it was his he would have it all apart anyway to check.

I've never done anything like this before, so I wouldn't be confident stripping the block down just yet.

So, we decided that in my situation, it wouldn't do any harm to suck it and see. If it smokes like a pig on a bbq or is down on power I will know what's up and will have to get it rebuilt. I would have to pay someone to do it now anyway. It was running in Carl's car before selling it to me, so there is a good chance that it will be fine, as I have only changed the head.

Cross all of your digits for me lads!

The main problem is getting the intercooler to fit.

I will take a pic tonight with the radiator, brake servo intercooler and pipework in place.

It's tight to say the least!

I was thinking about it, but I'm not sure exatly what parts are needed to convert it to non-servo. As far as I know it's just the pedal box and master cylinder that I need to source. But do I keep the front/rear bias thingy? and what master cylinder do I need to get?

When i swapped mine i got the non servo brake pedal and clutch dont know if thsi was needed but swapped them into my servo pedal box, Then i fitted the non servo mastercyclinder and piped it into the regulator on the bulkhead.
