anyone else on here ever done this ? i am trying to gather info on me Grandad who served as part of the 8th Army during ww2 as a bren gun carrier driver. i have got his service number, but there is like a handfull of regiment names, all crossed out (bit of a bad sign of their demise) can anyone give me any advice on where to start with this kind of thing ? knowing you lot i am sure at least a hand full have done this. this is my winter project until funds allow continuation of the Turbo....plus i always wanted to know.

Let me know too. Know my Grandads name, but not what regiment he was in. Not much to go on. On 19th Jan, 2010 wil_h said:
