does anyone know what the ideal piston to bore clearance would be using omega cast pistons and turbo block at +20 ???

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Thought this figure came as a spec with the pistons. Its all down to the thermal expansions at a guess. Omega is the place to ask *smiley*

Yeah it should do, but some manufactures assume...

Giving them a ring is the best way, nothing like info from the horses mouth!

got through in the end...they recommend between 2 and 2 1/2 thou

Apparently for every inch in diameter for the piston you've got to give 1 thou clearance. (2.5 inch piston diameter : 2 1/2 thou clearance).
I could be wrong. And the top of the piston is going to have more clearance than the skirt.

iv deleted al my old mails, but for my forged pistons the clerances were greater, best to jsut fone and askrather than assume.

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

All the Megas I've measured have been 71.06 in .020. I have my blocks bored 71.12 That's 0.06mm clearance.

and your block was bored to 2.8000inch
giving 0.0024inch clearance 2.4 thou?
