Went to start the car again after about 3 months of being stood still, it cranks over ok but no fuel is getting to the carb, looking at the little fuel filter I have after the pump and between the carb there is fuel at the bottom but none moving through.

Take the hose off at the carb and crank it and fuel spurts out as the the little fuel flows through the filter fine. So im thinking that when its all connected theres a blockage in the carb? As when i conect it back up again the fuel doesnt pass through again.

Took the dashpot off and theres some fuel at the bottom, buts it looks abit greeny for some reason! Im thinking where its been on the drive at an angle all the crap in the carb has gathered and blocked something?

Im pretty sure something in the carb is blocked it cant be anything else, so what bit could be blocked? Im taking it off tomorrow to take it apart, where should i look for any build of shit and gunge?

Thanks!

Rich

Take off the float chamber cover and check the needle valve isnt blocked..

When you take the pipe off the carb and run the pump does it glow properly? as it should piss out with the pump running.

Sounds like it should be something like that thanks guys!

So do I just take the carb off, take the float chamber cover off the bottom and pull the bits out cleaning it all up etc?

Thanks!

Rich

Got it going and it runs well now!

Took the carb apart only to find that it was really quite clean, but stripped it down and checked the needle valve over etc and put it back on the car and it started first time! Awsome!

Set it up roughly so it idles ok now, but ive got a feeling that the mixture screw is all the way in rich, and it just about idles at a decent speed and pics up quite nicely, leaning it off a little bit makes it pop and fart out of the carb but then picks up after.

Thanks again for the help!!
