I think i posted this a while back but not to sure where to go from here. Basically the car had a rebuilt and rebored 40 thou its all back together and evertime i go to rev her she dies, so i fiddeld about with the fueling as rich as it would go and as weak as it would go and still the same problem. its sittin about 12 degress on the timing. I placed my hand over the back of the carb and bingo she would run perfectly everyone keeps saying my timing is way out any easy way to check this engine is sittin in a mini???

what u eman with or without advance??

tried the colour tune same problem

i dont get any smoke at all just a back fire through the carb (fuel)

I tried it in every postion turning the mixture rich and visa versa

It still does the problem when wamr too

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Did you set the timing with or without the vacuum advance on the dizzy? (the little black pipe from the inlet to the dizzy?)

Makes a big difference. *happy*

was out today bigman and had another wee look there was a wee nibble ont eh actual mainfold itself and that was leaking so i blocked it off again ran better but had to advanc eit all the way to about 12 degress i think that a wee bit to far. I slapped in the colour tune and mixture seems fine. I retarded the timing slighlty but i would keep back firing

hahahha you wont believe this there was no oil in the dash pot!! Am pure gutted feel like a total fool now hehehe how do you always seem to miss the simple problems hehehe cheers for the info
