Just been told i HAVE to have a spare wheel? I got told theres a new law where i need one at all times, but its ok if i dont have one for the MOT? is it true? I dont have any 13inch spares! Previous Engine: 1040cc Morespeed engine, 1275 turbo head T2 Turbo Mirage Manifolds Megajolt

You dont need one for the MOT at all. I know this as my spare in another car was bald and the garage "suggested" i took it out for the MOT! lol! If your in france and some other countries it is law to carry a spare. |

Just put a can of foam in, not the best option but better than nothing. Some new cars only have foam, no spare so it cant be the law to have a spare |

As far as I was aware Contruction and use does not stipulate you have to have a spare tire.

BMw M3's don't have a spare but are supplied with run-flat tyres. My BMW E46 has a space saver tyre which looks really funny when fitted with the other wheels being 18" split rims! It isn't good for your car to have different diameter tyres on the same axle if the axle is being driven as the diff will rotate at different speeds and on certain cars will trigger the ABS sensors. (Nothing to worry about on a mini as regards the ABS but am sure the Diff would NOT be happy!
