i actually thought about going into the garage and looking at the gearbox today, but then couldn't be arsed. Will try and get it sorted soon money permitting.

i dont think having the shootout the day beforew the minis and beatles is agood idea, how gutted would you be if something went tits up and you were not able to make it too york to cane some bugs, ' i think that anytim after is a better option.

How somewhere like coventry, this has good motorway links (m1, m42 (so m5 and m40), m6) and is reasonably close for a rwyb weekend

Does anyone know of a decent mini friendly rr there though?

i was at hi-tec the other weekend with a load of honda's. It's not too bad, was talking to the old boy about minis and he said they have loads in there.

I was only there for a power run but was a decent enough setup. A couple of the chaps were saying the figures were a bit optimistic on the higher powered cars but mine was about right i'd say.

oh yeah, afaik you need to get 15 cars minimum, 20 max and it cost us £20 a go. can't complain at the price on a sunday morning!

sounds a plan then, conventry should be good but what about the RWYB?

May is a bit of a gap between events so would be a good filler.

There is a RWYB at Avon Park on the 17th and 18th of May? Could be a nice warm up to the Showdown?

so, RWYB before or after?

i'm thinking it may be best to do the RWYB saturday (guessing it will be quieter) then some orange juice, then the RR on the sunday?

Thinking its better to just be doing the RR on the sunday in case anybody gets orangitus!

I can ring them to see if its available?

I'm going to ring Hi-tech (postcode B64 7RW for routing!) to see what they have.

The good thing is we can go to Avon Park, race saturday then to prove to some people that they are "road cars" its about 40miles to the RR. So if people choose we can have a roadtrip there and back.
Gives us a place to leave trailers if desired (i.e. at AP with the tents), i would of thought it would be safe?
Either way round, wether a road trip or trailer it would make a good weekend. we could have a either a bbq saturday night, or just head into stratford?

I personally wouldn't leave a trailer unattended at Avon Park TBH.

i would be fairly happy as i would lock it/chain it to the towcar type thing, or even take the wheels off! lol!

but anyway, its just an option, we could go for a camp site near stratford if people fancy?

Iain, are you going to take some kind of deposite for this? get some commitment from people?

This sounds like an awesome excuse for a piss-up....I mean to take the mini out!

Only problem is this means im actually going to have to finish it at some point and get it running..lol

Is there no way we could do the rr on the sat? I dont fancy having to get up early with a severe hangover

i dont mind which way round we do it, just didnt know if people prefered going down the strip with orangitus, or going to the RR

I'll ask availability of both dates tomorrow
