Does anyone know where I can find a 2 bolt steel center main cap for a 1098 or 998? I have found plenty of places that sell a steel strap, but I would rather replace the whole cap if possible. I have also found places that sell a 4 bolt cap… I would rather just 2 bolts. |

You wont get a 2 bolt, or atleast Ive never heard of one. Why not fit a 4 bolt? Its no problem to drill and tap 2 more holes.
I seriously doubt it! |

So would you guys recommend the 4 bolt or the strap mod? My concern is that this is a 1098, that seemed to have problems without the boost, I want to make sure the center main does not fail. |

It depends on how much money you want to spend. A strap will not need line boring so is cheaper. For example I rev my 1380 over 9,000rpm regularly over the last 8 years or so with a strap. Paul I seriously doubt it! |
