Nothing major. I compared an alloy door hinge to a steel one the other day to see what weight saving I would get, The hinges on my car are brass so didnt know how that compared. It would seem now though that I will get an even bigger saving as the brass ones are even heavier.
I seriously doubt it! |

Early MK1 were brass. Theyre quite rare.

a kg of brass weighs the same as a kg of steel. no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.
