what should the thickness of the compression ring for 20831 pistons be. I have measured mine to be 1.59mm or about 0.61 - 0.62 in imperial.

What matters is the gap between the ring and the slot in the piston. Measure this. Brand new rings may still be unuseable if the piston is worn. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
