Not acording to Visard, the downdraght weber manifold is actualy quite good. One reason why the SPi manifold looks very similar On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:

Nice free flowing is usually preferred. But if it isnt...it doesnt always hurt performance..... . 9.85 @ 145mph

I have a downdraft Weber with a hat. That one looks pretty rough. Hats are readily available in the US from Pierce manifolds, as are the manifolds and carburetors.
