I tried to get one from Rover (CAM6949 I think) last week. Basically they have non left and aren't making any more. Avonbar are having some made which will be ready in a month or so. Rover list it at ?25.

There is nothing magic about this hose.
All you need is to look through the pages of your car 'modifying' magazines in the US and find someone that sells silicon hoses, and get a 90 degree (right angle) silicon hose of the appropriate diameter....

Dave, there is something special about it mate. Silicon gets attacked by the oil so doesnt last very long when constantly in oil. The hoses i get at tetra something or other lined to be oil resistant.
I thought the same until i rang a load of hose places and they said that it wouldnt last.

its 3/4" btw

Yep, I was told the same thing around 5 years ago when I started looking at drain pipes when i put the T2 on.
Five years on, and the old ones have been discarded because they've become damaged from hose clips being on and off that many times...
Not because they are soft / perished / rotted.

I guess, that different oils attack the rubber faster (i was running mineral).
I'm sure it does affect it, but i never saw enough of an issue to warrant spending the extra.
I'd be interested to know what the 'correct' hoses are made / lined with.
