sorted the hogs ring problem well sort of.

well took the engine to see gary and gav at minispares to try and sort out this puzzel with the ring gaps.

after tring some other +40 ae ring packs the gap was still in the region of 45 thou, so both me and gary looked a bit puzzeld.

both agreed on the piston speil gap was right so piston to bore clerance was spot on.

the gary suggested and found a set of +40 powermax ring pack. tried the oil control ring and hey presto 12 thou gap, the only problem was that the comp rijngs are to fat to fit in the mega pistons.

so opted to use a set of +60 rings set and file them down a tad.

both gav and gary and keith said that ae says that 40 thou ring gap for the oil control ring is on ther upper limit for usage.

but i still say thats way to big, rings should be near as dam it the right clearance with just a bit of trimming here and there if required, as you can always take some off but you cant put it back on.

any way i was going to set top ring at 14 thou. 2nd and oil control at 12 thou what are peeps view on this.
