Hi guys, sorry another nitrous topic :S - i did search and answered a few questions but was after some thoughts on this for my current project car.

I;ve just brought the WON nitrous kit with Minimax - At the moment i have the chance to build my engine knowing that it will be running nitrous, which is lucky.

my main question was what sort of shot would people suggest to use? i read in the topics i found that people use anything from 25 - 75 what are the advantages/disadvantages of using a lower shot to a higher one?

Another question i would be interested in hearing is how the minimax actually works? am i right in thinking nitrous is either open or closed? so how does the controller provide nitrous progressively?

Cheers

Ollie

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

the viking is picking holes in your spelling.

bought is past tense for buy
brought is past tense or bring.

iirc it controls the solioid opening and closing time, so when it is first doing they will be opening and closing very quickly and then when you are in the higher rpm range they will stay open for longer :) sorry if i am wrong
you can hear it here

Always start with the smallest jets possible. You cannot un-blow-up an engine.

opn a more serious note,

you will be advised to start with 25 hp jets, this does not meen you will see an additional 25 hp , but its theoretical increase based on nitrous consumption.

you will get better results from the nitrous if you use a cam with wider lobe centreline angle, or in simple terms from the proprietory brands more of a fast road cam, race cams hace narrower LCA's and you end up blowing the expensive nitrous gas out of the exhaust port, and only burning some of it , you will trap more nitrous with a wider LCA,109 to 110 degs, tops.

the minimax controller pulses the selonoids as mentioned earlier from being open for short burts with longer periods closed than open to vice versa, untill fuly open idf set so. over a given time scale,

when you finally get round to using the gas by staring off with a relatively small dose you can testa nd tune without runnig the risk of doing any damage should anything go wrong either with the engine or more rarely the nitrous system [ as its a highpower system it will no doubt perform faultlessly ]

the main difference between a small shot and a large shot is the large increase in torque resulting in many thing , but usually large chunks of acceleration increase [ conditions permitting] and very real grin factor.

have you bought the setup direct from the wizard himself or second hand used,?.
