Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Now if the new qauife came in a HS version then it wouldn't matter but it doesnt, it comes with pot joint output shafts. i have a set of HS on the car and they are known to take a bit more abuse due to the output shafts on the diff being slightly larger OD.

They do a set of convertors for the quaife but comes out at £150 for a pair and by using them you are defeating the object of having the HS as you would be on a small diff output shaft

the main reason for wanting the quaife is the better choice of FD's.

Do i just go for the quaife, flog the HS's and go with pot joints?

i have a set of PJ shafts in the shed somewhere, possibly along with some PJ's etc.

Guess some of the funding for it will come from the semi helical 3.9, 4 pin diff and HS joints and shafts... although i may well just keep them for the 16v since it will rev higher *wink*

just after some opinions really, payday on tuesday you see *happy*

may as well just buy a couple of new pot joints then, only £31 each from minits. then just use the std shafts. not that arsed about spending £60+ each on some comp shafts.
i think most of you use std shafts yeah?

have to stick a couple of CV's on whilst i'm at it, going to add up! lol!

Im just on std stuff

Get new ones and im sure youll be ok, and they usually come with boots

Ive seen a few near side ones that have snapped (i think jon broke one too) but these are all on track cars, and buy the sounds of it the only way around it is to chnage them every few meetings

Fear not, just chuck the regular stuff on

The reason ours broke (most likely) is that Wil put the car on two wheels and kept his foot in. As the wheel in the air came back to the track (it was spinning because it was before we had the LSD) it slowed down very quickly and hence the pot joint went. This had obviously happened several times in its life before it broke.

With an LSD I reckon you won't get the same shock forces through them.
