In one or two of the posts on here there is mention of the 1st motion shaft nose support bearing in the turbo gearbox being slightly bigger than a standard bearing (although the reason for this isnt clear). I think the item is http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=32830 and is not contained in any rebuild kit that I can find.

I am assembling a SC gearbox and DGs. I have the standard bearing to install. Should I get rid of this and install the bigger bearing? What difference does it make (if any).

Thankx

I use the bigger bearing but you need the correct transfer casing for this.
So most people see what casing the have and use the bearing that fits. (someone correct me if i am wrong:) )

I know that the f.cker is much more expencive than the standard one. 60 euro for a very small piece*tongue*

Really you can't go wrong

there is nothing wrong with a A-series that a turbo can't fix.

You can machine your existing transfer casing to accept the bigger bearing, whether or not it's needed is debatable. A lot of people are running on the smaller bearing with no issues.

Looks like it'll be the smaller bearing then (thats what my new case seems to accept). Thanks guys.
