Now I have the IC in ; ( see show us yours )
I know cannot find a good place for the air filter
I dont have enough space to go over the RAD

but I have seen lots of you guys just have the filter in front of the WIperMotor

Can I ask; If you get enough fresh cold air up there !! I cant see it working that well , so I request the voices of experiance !

Best to have it over the front really, best way is to have a custom plenum with the intercooler coming out the left (from the front) this then frees up some space on the side of the filter.

It is tricky though and no 2 minis are the same so its just a case of look and see where it will fit.

Mines in the back corner seems ok

My bonnet is raised a fair bit on pins though 2 inches at the rear
wouldn't want to put it there otherwise

Thought i'd answer here:
The pipework is good for a first attempt, and by all means, leave the air filter where is is for the time being.

future mods thoughts though...
1) have a look at my install and see how i've weaved my intercooler pipe in between my top hose. This leaves space for the slightly larger air filter pipework above the thermostat housing
2) Consider getting the rh endcap lopped off the intercooler and a new one making so you can drop the intercooler into the airflow more.

Top marks for a first install though!

I like the sound of getting under the bottom hose, and will maybe weld up another link pipe tonight !
