Does anyone have a Cooper S rod handy? They are the large bore rods with the 1.625" OD big ends.

I need the measurement across the big end. I'm trying to find out if they will fit down a 67.6mm bore.

I think they would be better suited to high revs than a set of lightened 998 A+ items.

Help appreciated.

When using cooper s rods in a small bore engine, you need to face off the big and little ends, little end also needs bushing for floating pins. You assemble them through the engine, so you install the rod from the bottom and assemble the piston from the top.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I know.

This is for a +0.120" overbore. Just wondered if you could get them down the bores.

As far as I know, you can get them down. Popular mod in Miglia engines in the past (998)

Id be surprised Vegard if that was the case.

Didn't the Miglia regs restrict the over bore size to +20? if so then there is no way you are going to shave 4mm off the width of the rod, there would be very little to support the rod bolts?

As far as I was aware, and read in TBASE, you assembled the rods onto the pistons through the engine.
