After buying a minispares alloy one. I would'nt do it again.

If your dead set on having one. Make one yourself/or get one made for you.

Much better IMO.

i v got one on mine , pros are,..
less weight ,bout 40 lbs , easily changable spring rate on shocks ,and easy height and camber and toe in adjustment.
cons ...
bit of rd roar in the car from the tyres cos its all solid, no rubber in the mounts ,and the rising rate springs that came with it are awfull ,way too soft and one side different to the other ,cant wait to get some normal springs .

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

ok so general idea is just make your own then.

i had started with a subframe and lightend it, maybe i will just carry on with that and solid mount it.

thanks

Really!! *surprised*

Was it the actual beam that was the problem or the spring rate of the coil overs?

Fitment issues were because of the beam, needed holes elongating/lots of persausion to get it to fit, bits grinding here and there etc

The ride i could never get right, even on the softest setting the damping would rattle my teeth and the springs were one or the other, to firm, or too soft, tried helper springs and many different combo with help from eibach (they are extremely helpful)

I never tried antiroll bars or anything like that though, and that would npo doubt have helped as it was wallowy as hell at the rear.

Things have no doubt changed since, this was about 7 years ago, so hopefully more developement has been put into the dampers/springs.

Also, I dont know how others found it, but even the dampers with offset pins foulled my arches do had give them a wallop with a ball pein to get clearance.

Others on here seem to love the coilover route, so there must be a way to get it sorted, I just love the way the tweaked std set up handles, so my bias is probably heavily swayed by preference too

Also be aware of wheel with considerable inset, as certain profile tyres will foul the springs, i had some new A539's fitted at a local tyre place, and they didnt check for clearance, had simultaneous twin blow outs at about 50mph and went straight into the oncoming traffic on a dual carriageway on the way home!!

Lots of things to consider :)
