Is there a particular brand of head unit that is better at MP3's than others?
Reason i ask, is i've got many 'mix' mp3's - some 2/3 hours long. Sometimes I want to skip say 10-minutes, and this seems to be something that is a PITA to do - as the head units i've tried (ok - only two panasonics, three kenwoods and one (cough) blaupunkt need me to hold a button to fast-forward, and they are really crap at this compared to when there is a 'proper' (ie non mp3) track in there....

Has anyone any good experience with a particular make, or should I just start using the Ipod instead?

Smart-ass comments welcome as it's a friday. Lets make it a fun one. :)

have you thought about using an external source, or are you dead set on having it all on your head unit?

i only say this as its a doddle scanning through tracks on ipods etc

I know what you mean, I listen to 30-60 min radio shows on my MP3 head and sometimes knock the steering wheel controls with my knee as I turn.. Its a PITA getting back to where you left off... skipping tracks is OK but when the track is 2 hours long....

Are these tracks on a CD ? could you not split them into smaller bits, and then burn them with no gap between the tracks ?

I like my head unit, which is also a hands free kit and has a remote.

As everyone else says, cut the MP3s into usable chunks.
