Interesting stuff.

However, he has only implemented what TurboMinis have been talking about doing for the last 2 1/2 years.

It wrangles me a little when he states "you saw it here first".

But to be fair, he has done a good job and has been first to bring it to the mass market.

Hi, I will have a word with the guys at the magazine and see if I can upload the before and after power plots for you.

The conversion was on a bog standard Austin A40 (ok at the opposite end of the performance range to what turbominis is all about!). Nevertheless it gained 22% power at the wheels, with only modifications being single SU to MPI injection manifold.

The ECU was only working from a base map - the conversion had to be done in a day so we ran out of time for fine tuning. Power was slightly down at the bottom end for this reason. So potentially more improvement to come.

Personally I think Practical Classics deserve a lot of respect for featuring an MPI conversion - they could have played it safe and fitted any other well known ecu and SPI, but I think they realised that typical injection conversions have already been done to death by other magazines. But then I would say that!

Cheers
Dave
