Jobs to do:
Fit intercooler pipework
Get oil pressure
Compression measure
Fill cooling system (going to try 'water wetter' this time)
Change OS driveshaft (pot joint noisy)
Plumb & wire in AMAL valve
Fit new spark plugs

Rolling road next week!

Well all I have to do is:

Wash out engine (bearing material everywhere)
Change cam drive
Build new gearbox
Fit new flywheel and clutch
Install engine and box
Fit new down pipe

Destroy at Avon Park!!!

What's the problem?

It was running when you bought it, right?

You don't live to far from me I don't think (I live in Crewe) I might be able to spare an evening.

I'm controlling the AMAL from my DTA ecu... Seems DTA has had problems with this setting in the past, but luckilly has just released it's latest ECU upgrade which controls it without feedback, so a free Eprom is in the post and will be here tomorrow!

Can't believe i spent 4 hours on it yesterday, and it looks like all i've done is fitted the intercooler pipes!
I'm just taking my time to make sure everything is routed properly, and even spent around 30 minutes just replacing the pressure sensing hose from plenum to regulator (it takes a fair bit of work getting a 6mm pipe onto the 8mm regulator unions (spot the tapered bar i use for this job in the pic!)

So, the AMAL is mounted (took ages to make a suitable 'rubber mount' for it) & connected and I'm hoping it'll work as its meant to... I've got a bleed valve on the outlet so I can adjust the sensitivity of the 'bleed' during the operation, so it is best at all rpm / boost settings. Think i'll still need a switch on my gearstick for 1st and 2nd, but after that, the boost pressure will vary wrt RPM, making it a much easier drive, and giving an even flatter torque curve...

I'll tell you about the balance pipe at Avon... *wink*

of course!!!
The only thing in that engine bay not done by myself was the TIG on the intercooler...

Even the Kronenbourg was consumed by me...

Saturday Night!

Have fired her up, filled up cooling system (incl water wetter!)
and changed the sloppy driveshaft...
Driving tomorrow morning!

Incidentally, the sloppy shaft was caused by the 'spider' splined onto the end of the shaft that the six balls contact (pot joint inboards) actually being loose on the shaft!
I've Never seen that before!!!!
