just found a kink in the fuel return pipe,could this have been
causing my overfueling problem???????

Yes!

It would cause there to be a high pressure at the regulator and force too much fuel in, even 1psi above what it should be causes it to run rich, especially if the carb isnt perfect.

Wants to be about 3.5 to 4psi, no more.

Same problem as mine - but it was a collapsed fuel hose...

I've found the hard way that overfuelling makes the ring lands seperate from the pistons. Watch out!!!!
