Hello.

After a new engine.

I would prefer a B16A2, but will accept a A1.

Cheap as possable, with as little miles as possable :)

a1 was in the earlier civics, crx's etc, the a2 came in a bit later possibly with the j plate and onwards civics

I cant remember what the difference is but they have a few more bananas

not really, aparently theres a slight difference in cam profiles, ecu system, inlet manifold, and compression ratio
its vtec on hondas
vvc on k series
vvt on renaults and toyotas
(but all essentially the same)

d-series has alot more torque and respond better to turboing if that is the plan :)

But the conrods aren't as stong.

So would need a rebuild, just to swap them over. And most D16 engines put out around 120bhp, and for the cost a Hybrid conversion, I'd might aswell go A-Series :)

But I don't want to go A-Series.

main difference between the a1 engine and a2 is the ecu. they are obd0? and the a2 are obd1. means a different dizzy, lambda and a few other things, oh and the extra 10 nanas
