i got my car mot'd and the garage failed it on emmisions, they have leaned it off but i think they have done it too much, no matter how long i've been driving it won't go when the choke is in..
it feels the same as when you push the choke in too soon, the engine is strangled all the way up to about 3000rpm ish.
after that its sluggish but clean revving.
do you think this is just an over lean mixture? or is it something worse?
i think i need to get it rolling roaded! :p

Yeah get it rolling road tuned asap! running excessively lean can do a lot of damage.

yes iknow, i think i'll richen the mix my self for the moment till i can afford the rr.
i don't understand why the garage made it so lean! surely they know about the dangers.
i also don't understand why my car failed the emissions when the legal CO level for something the same age is something like 4.5%

thats the problem, some garages just arent used to older cars. Plus they probably wouldnt even think about the damage, if the computer screen says it has to be that then thats what most (not all) monkeys will do.

i am just glad i am not turboed yet!
if they did that to my new engine (when its done)
and it melted they would be getting a big bill on their doorstep

about how much would a rolling road cost?

Mine charges ?45 for a std NA setup that is in need of a good tune up. im assuming thats + needle if required.
