Mine is fine for the road, but my car is noisy as hell anyway, it all depends on your taste and what you use your car for.......

Isle of Man

ill prob sound like Roger now...

everything in my old 1380 (top, bottom, subframe) was solid metal mounted, made my bulkhead reverberate like an old plane on takeoff, absolutely deafening (i had no sound deadening though)

that was solid though, im guessing rose jointed top steadys would be similar.

i personally think polybushes in the std item would do a similar job but with a lot less drone, but alot less pimp factor too...

that half std and half rj job specialised components do looks a good compromise??

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

i'd just fit them to be honest. wouldnt make it much more noisy than it already is!

They come into their own if you ever want internal gear linkages etc.

Only thing i ever noticed on my old mini was the extra vibration, it didnt make a difference in noise, just vib thru the steering wheel and thats it really.

Ive just bought one of carls (fastcarls) steadys, really nice item well worth the money!

I had polys in my top steady until recently, I had it idling once when someone noticed the buzzing steering wheel and came up and said "mate theres something wrong with your steering wheel!!?!". Haha.

Staffordshire or Northamptonshire

Its a shame you cant buy a rose jointed adjustable length steady that has poly bushes in a pack in the middle. The could be compressed to give high level of support but still give a degree of isolation.

Would anyone buy them if i made them?

SC do a tie bar with the rose joint one end, bushes the other. Should be a good compromise.

Ive got mine fitted but yet to get the engine started. :)
