If you are considering a carbon boot floor from Curley I would recomend saving your money.

The weight difference between the curley floor and the steel is barely noticable...

Do you have the bootfloor yet? If not buy it first then cut it to fit.

flippin heck jim i've been searchin for that pic, i knew it was yours i'd seen before, cheers boss, thats helped loads, the cut for the batterybox basicly continues over dont it!

i've cut my battery-box out today, its quite flexxy without that box the sheet steel of the bootfloor is like rolfs wobble board, suprised me to be honest how much its flopsy/mopsy

i have'nt a carbon or grp-floor but have got some 22 gauge sheet steel, i want to just level it up, get rid of the wheel well, i did'nt realise how many differant levels the floor was, seems more difficult now cause i'm doing it with the subby fitted :o/ taking some thinking

i'm adding a section of square steel tube from rear subby mount to mount if you get my meaning, also a brace to the wheelarch tower tops :o)

cheers for the pics chaps, helped alot

wheres my old art pad n pencils to plan this bugger :oD

i could do, i'm no fabrication master but it'll be strong, i dont want to make it heavier than original though, i have a feeling the corflake carboard packets may be of use! not in the final build though lol :oD

my thought is to weld me brace bars in 1st to stop any flex/movement in the mounts, although i have my subby in, best to be safe hey!

got my carbon boot floor *surprised*) & yes it is as heavy as steel *surprised*( well nearly anyway fkn lightweight my arse! anyhow i'm going to fit it for dare i say it styling points!!! & that it makes the floof flat! & gets rid of where i welded the a plate for the battery box, i'm gonna wip the subby off as i'm chopping it up to make a beam axle copy & using coilovers so i should shed a few kg's i reckon, some is better than nowt i reckon,

i'm gonna paint the heelboard & rear underside when the subby is off so i thought fck it, put the heavy-carbon in lol any other advice on this would be great chaps

A carbon skin of that area should be 500g to 1.2kg. If it’s any heavier i suspect it’s got a bucket load of fiberglass in.

Ill knocks one out in a few months when i can afford another vacuum generator. Then tell you all the weight of it.

id say 600 grams.

Yes. put it on the metal mark it roughtly out with a marker. cut an inch in from that line then trim it back to fit.

easier to mark and cut from under the car but is doable from the boot.

Oh and another note is that if you remove the boot floor add a brace between the two rear arches.

paul wigington: your ally floor is blummin loverly!!!!

if i have the time i could replicate that without the swage lines, loverly bit of metalwork you've done there, your a bit of an ace i must say!

if i get the opertunity (i cant spell sorry) i'll make one for my clubman shell i have'nt done a lil project of metal fab like that for ages!

to sam the man: yep i have a brace bar on my arches, strong tubing too!

i think atacking it from the underside is my easier option while i have my subby off, i'll do pics when i start, the subby is coming of this week as i am unemployed *surprised*(

but i get to work on my car inbetween interviews *surprised*D woo hoo!
