i have done everything to my mini now apart from the cv gators, wiring in and fitting my capri clocks, and re-fitting the interior and the biggest job! bleeding my 4 pot calipers.
i tried to bleed the brakes tonight, i am running a servo and the 4 pots front, std rear.
using a pressure bleeder, i bled them starting pass rear, gradually working closer to m/cylinder, got a nice pedal when you pump it, leave it for a few secs, its gone, foot to the floor again, does anyone have any ideas please, i am now desperate as i need to get it mot'd on monday if i am gonna make avon park!
please please help

I struggled with a similar problem for ages. I had no air in any of the lines and the pedal was still shite. Turned out to be the master cylinder.

This was a non-servo dual system.

have you got the brake pressure unit mounted on the bluk head under the servo/master cylinder?

If so pressure bleeding doesnt work well in my experience.

As Wil says, probably the master cylinder.
Some that have only ever seen 1" or less of movement often fail when asked to 'travel' a lot further during bleeding...

A sure way to check is to remove the unions from the master, and screw some bolts into the union holes (or use some old pipes with the ends bent over to stop any fluid from coming out).
If you fill up the master, and let the fluid start running out as you top it up, it'll get enough of the air out to prove once and for all if the problem is in the master cyl.

Basically, you should find the pedal stays firm, and has the same travel all the time with the outlets plugged. If it is ok, try changing the valve on the bulkhead. I've known these to cause problems.
If that is ok, try an easybleed kit to make sure the majority of air is out of the system, then finish it off manually if needed.

Finally, it's not the single line master cyl / remote servo is it?

its a late style servo unit, the callipers are on properly, the rear brakes are adjusted mint!
i am using the ezibleed kit, it does have the bias thing on the bulkhead beneith the servo. i have got 2 of them so i will try changing that if the master is fucked

Alex,
That unit is for the twin circuit brakes isn't it? For when one circuit fails....

Doesn't do any biasing as i recall... That's what bias valves or compensator valves on the rear subframe are for...

That's what i've always understood tho! I'm probably wrong! LOL!!!
