hello all, i have a small problem with burning oil, when you start the car it smokes badly and when its warm it leave smoke clouds when you put your foot down a bit. it is not the turbo as i have cheacked the spark plugs and found that oil is all over piston no 3, the rest are fine. has anyone one had this kind of problem and how much do you think it would cost to sort out?

cheers

Sounds like your rings on no.3 are shot.

Full rebuild time. (cost depends on how muh you do yourself and what else you find wrong with it)

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

guides are easy but you will also have to get the seats cut which will put the cost up.

Phone you local engineering shop and ask :)

For head work and stuff around your way try TMW engineering out at Stalham. Very good machine shop and mini friendly.

Resident Cylinder Head Modifier

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

do a compression check to eliminate the bores

my bet is on the the piston rings
