Im after a small bonnet vent, I have a dent in my bonnet over the carb, and also i have a problem with hot starts, so id like ideas for a small subtle bonnet vent.

Ive been looking for carbon fibre ones but theyre all arround £40 - £50. I think something like a metro GTA one is too big.

Also, would it be better to force the air backwards and into the bonnet, or let it out backwards towards the screen which is better for airflow?

thanks everyone *happy*

close to the rear of the bonnet is a low pressure area, so it would draw air out.

Check Summit, they do a range of vents etc, even if they are in the US. Might be something a little different from the norm.

Or search ebay for some stainless marine products. Boats have various grills and vents too. Some nice stainless stuff on there, and not expensive either.

probably wrong, but i think its the opposite stevie

i was under the impression that the scuttle area is a high pressure area, iirc i put it into fluent when back at uni and it came up showing this

id do it again now, but my mate has robbed my dvd with all my engineering programs on

im planning on fitting an era vent feebs, got one for 6 squid on ebay

joe is right, most areas at the front of the car will be a high pressure area and will only like intaking air.

i'm sure some one with a raised bonnet rear stuck some wool tufts on the bonnet edge and they pointed into the engine bay.

How about getting some lourvres stamped in? al though that does mean repainting the bonnet.

cant repaint the bonnet, has to be done without :(

thanks for the suggestions so far, i like era vents but it wouldnt be subtle enough for my car.

Looking forward to results joey!!

I want it to effectivly cool the carb when after a run, to let heat rise out, without knackering the air flow.

Something like one of these

this was the experiment , it appeared that the air flows out from under the bonnet at the corners ,and in under the middle of the bonnet .
so everyones right !!!lol
