Hi all,

Im trying to refit my clutch and flywheel back on my engine. Once I tighten it all back up it keeps locking the engine up. When I take the flywheel and clutch back off it turns over freely again.

Does anyone no what im doing wrong? Ive never done this before and im putting it all back on the way it came off.

Chris

Does the primary gear turn freely before you put the flywheel and clutch on?

not by hand but if I put a socket on the other side of the crank it turns easy.

If your gearbox is locked up for some reason, then you will not be able to turn the crank once the flywheel and clutch are connected.

Your primary gear, idler and gearbox input shaft need to spin freely.

I should have read the post properly before replying.... starts again..

Did you swap anything (you say you put it back as it came apart) but this happened to me once when I fitted a pre-verto flywheel to an A plus housing and it was a clearance issue with the different thickness ring gear.

But if yours is the same bits as came apart, my experience is not relevant...

Have you done anything with the clutch slave cylinder? If you have put the wrong bolts back in then these can foul on the flywheel.
