Lowestoft, Suffolk.

On wednesday last week, myself, the new G/F and two of our mates went on a road trip to switzerland to go snowboarding for 4 days, was all a bit last minute but good fun none the less. I have never been boarding in my life, but was supprised how well I took to it. I perfected falling over in a big pile of arms and legs instantly, LOL.
We drove from Lowestoft to dover, ferry to callais, through france to Basil on the switz french border. We met some friends of my G/Fs parents who have a challet in Gitchenen (where we would be boarding), which we was being loaned (very kind of them) They joined us for the 4 days, and were the most amazing hosts, all food cooked and drink supplied, couldnt of asked for more!
Just thought I would share a few pics of a fantastic few days.

Very picturesque

A few lessons of a pro, LOL

Almost got the hang of it

The pro's

Fed up of walking back as kept on falling off the ski lift!

Got there eventually!

Never too old to build a snow man (one to many apres Ski!)

Last day!

Best few days Ive had in a while.
Cheers to Lisa and B' for arranging it, Hawky for being a comic genius and good tutor, and mostly to Lilly and Peter for being wonderfull hosts.
Shane.

Bastard. This is just rubbibg salt into my wounds, as I've not managed to go snowboarding for neary 8 years. As soon as my kids are old enough though.

Looks like you had a good time, I presume the fact that you posted on TM that you drove there in a Turbo'd mini? haha

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

And all for the cost of a ferry and some petrol, excellent. Looks lovely.

I wish I could of drove the mini (but that is far from finished lol) drove a vw transporter thats been converted to a camper! Two people sleep while two do the driving, worked a treat.
Was a really cheep outing, think it worked out no more than £95 + 22 switz francs for ski passes.
The last trip the other three went on was to Austria, but all for only 2hours on the piste, was so releaved to get a few days, lol!

Looks good! had no snow while in switz, on the sunday it was a really warm day and it started to melt quite rapidly, but still made the most of it. The G/Fs into wake boarding in a big way so hoping to get out on the broads this summer and give that a whirl, and mabe another snow trip toward the end of this year?

im into my wakeboarding aswell, luckily live right on the water too and tricked my dad into buying a jetski a few year ago so i get out when ever possible!! used to be into surfing a few year back but i sort of died out of that when i started work due to a lack of time, but the powder while snowboarding made me really really want to get back into it! so its going to be a nice busy summer for me this year!!

as for the 4 in a bed with a heart on it......when all you can say to the local talent is Bonjour and then you get confused with what they say back, you will take anything! haha

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
that statement isnt true! although bonjour was all we could say to the local talent!!
