hi, i have had to stall on engine/car build due to construction of new garages. i am nearly ready to put the engine together. it will be built with parts i already have. i am aiming for about 100bhp from my engine. does this sound like a good spec for a very tight budget build?

non mg metro block and pistons (low mileage) - checked bores, no pickups etc
new uprated oil pump
sw5 camshaft
centre straped crank
standartd mg merto turbo setup
13 row oil cooler
(condidering rs turbo intercooler)
low mileage rebuilt and unskimed austin 1300gt head, ported and polished.

gearbox is from metro (1982), centre oil pick up pipe, tranx 4 pin diff and sc drops

hopefully will be just over standard mg metro turbo power. want a nice bit of troque /power without giing silly with money. might add a set of 1.5 degree rockers as well. will be doing all work myself.

any coments or advise on this build? many thanks

i would not bother with the 1.5's they seemed to make my engine to peaky

how do you mean peaky? what about the rest of the build? does it sound ok?
think i will be around the q00 bhp mark, with a nice bitof torque? thanks

so does this sound like a decent 1st turbo engine build, or a load of rubbish?

For 100bhp on that setup, I would advise you definitely fit an intercooler.

I agree with Wolfie, 1.5 rockers are not ideal.
