sorry to be a pain but could someone explain more about the fitting of a intercooler, all the pictures i seem to see have the pipe going direct to the plenum do you guys modify the plenums yourself or can you buy them ie like the dumpvalve avonbar one etc, also how much extra stress do they put on the engine? any help would be great thanks. |

An intercooler goes between the compressor {alloy} side of the Turbo and the plenum. Is is basically a radiator which cools the compressed air from the Turbo before it enters the engine, thus providing a denser charge.

sorry mate still confused, if the intercooler lowers the intake charge temp surely it means denser air bigger boom etc etc, so how come no extra stress on engine? saw the plenum modified take it the ic goes to the plenum and where the original plenum pipe was joined. |
