My face has swelled up on one side, no pain just uncomfertable, thinking its an allergy or something i go to A&E wait there a while then get told i need to go to the clover centre as A&E does not deal with these, waited at clover centre they say they dont deal with this sort of thing i need to go to A&E or a drop in centre, not wanting to wait at A&E another 4 hrs ive booked a place at the drop in centre

I had to wait nearly 4 hours in extreme pain, after getting kicked by a horse a little while back now.

i accidently stabbed myself with a needle, injecting over 3ml of some pest killing stuff. after sitting in A&E for about 3 hours, i was told nothing could be found on the database about this stuff. usefull.

i was back there 1 week later when i wrote the mini off, struggling to breathe as i hit the steering wheel with my chest, sat for over an hour !!

i got bit by a horse......sat there for 45 mins holding a wound closed on my chest with a couple of old t shirts.

Last Thursday I caught three chav bas@@rds breaking into a shed at work and as I caught one of them I tore my calf muscle, so off to my local drop in medical center where the nurse told me to go straight to A&E because she was worried that I may get DVT.Off I went to the A&E two hours later the doctor called me in, he sat me on a chair and looked at both my legs, the only comment he made was how funny my tattoo was, 10 minutes later he asked me to get on the bed and lie on my front, by this time he had forgot witch calf was injured, “oh yes you have turned over sir sorry” he then got a tape measure out and measured both calf’s “right sir you will need a scan there is a lot of damage in there”. So off he went to sort a scan out for me. 10 minutes later he breezed back into the room to tell me “the scan lady has gone home let me have one more look sir” a few minutes passed and he told me “you may need an operation sir” so he started to examine me all over he took my blood pressure, looked into my ears, eyes, listened to my back, chest and even had a listen to my calf, then off he went again. A few moments later he returned with another doctor who had a look at my leg he told me to “go home take some pain killers and walk on it as much as I can, if you leg goes a funny color come straight back as you may have DVT” what a waste of time

But dont think that its better over here..

My Missus had a problem with her Gall bladder and was in real bad pain but waited 5 1/2 hours to be seen.. Her problem was that she did not complain enough and refused the painkillers as she would rather not take drugs like sweeties.. What we learned was that that to get seen quickly you need to take all the drugs they offer then still whinge and whine about the pain, Just sitting there all stiff upper lipped like the true Brits we are does not work.. They operated on her the next day, she's better now.

I work in the Medical field and I can tell you the NHS is a lot better than you guys realise.. OK there is somewhere between the NHS and the F#$^d up system they have here that would be great but at least you dont have to worry about the bill...

In that case it was in the region of $12,000, luckily I am among the privilaged and the insurance picked most of it up Still got whacked for a grand or so..

I sat in A+E for 3 1/2 hours after i nearly cut my middle finger off with the angle grinder! ACE!

Mine looks like a bloody paper cut compared to that. I exposed chopped into my tendon its ok now but on cold mornings its hard for me to make a fist.
