What's the knack to fitting the radiator with the early split cowl? From reading the haynes book I'm thinking fit the fan, fit the bottom half of the cowl, slide the rad in (not sure on this bit as already had the bottom hose oulet stuck again the cowl) and bolt it to the bottom half of the cowl, then fit the top half of the cowl. Would this work?

Any pointers greatly appreciated as I don't want to get the radiator stuck again and damage the fins.

Thanks

I tried that but couldn't get it all the way past the fan and got stuck on the bottom corner of the cowl thing on the inner wing.
Hmmm. Will have another go.

Thanks

Sounds good but you will need a cut down spanner to fit all the bolts.

Has it gone in as one with a plastic fan?

Something must be amiss as it's not going to go in as 1 piece. Managed to do it though with just the bottom part of the cowl attached to the rad, then add the top bit.

I fit the bottom part to the engine mount loosly, fit the top part to the rad, slide the rad in, add the other fixings loosely then fit the bottom & top hose then tighten everything.

If its a mk1 with a 4 core or radtec rad it will be a complete bastard!!
