I just popped down to Halfords to get some P38 and on the shelf underneath was some plastic padding called U-Pol Extra. It appears to be made by the same people of the same stuff, but costs about £2 less. Anyway I bought the U-Pol and it seems to be the same to use (how different can plastic padding be?). So does anybody know if it is the same, or is P38 really worth the extra 2 quid?

I used U-Pol last time I resprayed my mini, and found it no different what so ever to P38.

I know the bodyshop that sprayed it don't use P38 either. As far as ive seen the U-Pol stuff seems to be found in alot more of the paint supplier outlets and P38 seems to be sold in the more "public" retailers! *oh well*

The tin deffo looks more professional (i.e. plainer) and the P38 looks more flashy. I can't tell any difference so far so 2 quid saved.

Somewhere around Swindon

upol easysand is good

try a local paint/panel/motorfactors there far far cheaper and have far better products than halfords

works best if you build it up in layers sort of 2/3mm thick at a time if you need to re shape something like i did (Dont ask!)

skimming its fine, its a little difficult to work with at around 2/3 degrees though, just makes your arm ache when pushing it around.

U-Pol are a more professional range of products as used by bodyshops, I wouldn't hesistate in buying any of their refinishing products, all the stuff I've used made by them has always been first class.
