Hi, I want to build a 998 turbo engine to put into my project mini, I will be driving next year and was just wondering if anyone has been insured on a 998 turbo at 17 and what the price is like? I know it goes on where you live aswel but just a rough estimate of what it might be?

My advice is just to have a standard car for a couple of years (unless you're loaded) that's what I did many moons ago. I had a 1.1 Fiesta, drove it like an idiot for 18 months and got away with some very close shaves. They're esssentially death proof, not fast enough. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

the design shows a distinct lack of imagination, talk about starting off with a clean sheet of paper, then not bothering to fucking draw on it,lol On 20th Apr, 2012 Paul S said:

Just passed, 998 with twin HS4s (Dont ask why) £1350 from tescos, But i found YES INSURANCE do a pay monthly for 17 year olds (Im sure this is illegal somehow.. But they were happy to take the money) Fully comp, £140 Per Month with £300 Deposit.. Works out £1700 in total.
Boost?.. Isn't That A Chocolate Bar? |

If you bite the bullet, Pay monthly is easier, But that depends what your income is I suppose! Not a problem for me, as Im an aerospace engineer ![]() But I cant imagine a Turbo'd 998 is gona double the price on insurance.. OR, have it as Juuust a 998 NA (On the Log) and pray to God each night you dont crash. Wow with an engineering degree at 17 and you are still silly enough to think of not telling the insurance company about mods to your car. You might as well have no insurance. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

my insurance for my 1275 at 19 is 534 pounds with wheels and exhaust declaird, at 17 to be insured on a 1275 was only 900... and the cheepest way to be insured for a young driver is NOT yes thats right NOT on your parents insurace, insure the car in your name and have your mum or dad as the named driver this was £200 cheeper for me. and for a number of people i know so bare that in mind :) Edited by Paul R on 8th Apr, 2008. I know it's not what you want to hear, but unless you are willing to pay a ton of cash, it's worth having a shitter for a few years.
