you'll need cooper s brakes (calipers, disks, flanges, bolts, hoses) to replace your 8.4" setup.

I will have a set in about 2 weeks if your interested?

Discs, callipers, hubs, drive flanges. Taking them off my mini van and fitting up 8.4" ones as its having 12" alloys fitted. (not my choice, the bloke who's bought it doesnt want them so i offered to buy them abck along with the starmags)

4 pots are better.

cooper s is only really good to about 100bhp IMO

That's what the minimag journo who went in my mini (a shade more than 100hp) said about my S-Discs...

All i know is that with EBC greens and Grooved discs, my brakes provide greater retardation than the friction between the A032R's and the black stuff....

I wouldn't like to run them without a servo mind (although Jon F does!)

Do they do that on track thou TD?

I found brake fad after a few laps of coombe with just uner 100bhp when my mini was NA.

With 4 pots there is no hint of fade at all, in fact the 1144s strugle to stay hot!

They're fine i reckon. Just need a strong leg with no servo.

ps, i can vouch for how well jon's car stops!! I was like, "shiiiitt, road finishes in v.soon and we're going v.quickly!!"

Stopped a treat luckily for me. I now have full faith in jon's driving, top class *smiley*

Jon's got a couple of miles track experience to his name, probably more than the rest of us here combined (not incl Wil and Ben!) so he's best to answer the question...

But I've NEVER suffered fade with the S-Disc setup i have. But i've never tried it with old discs and stock pads so i can't comment on that set-up.
Follow Jon round a track and you'll understand that if you're having to use the brakes in anger, you're doing it wrong, or your chassis doesn't match your power...

I didn't know Jon ran cooper s! He certainly throws it about on track *happy*

My pads and disk were new but not majorly uprated...

Not sure I agree about not using brakes in anger... The later you brake (with in reason) the better your lap time! Then theres left foot braking to over come inside wheel spin or understeer (no my chassis has never been set up perfectly!).

i use the cooper s set up, havn't really noticed any difference from the 8.4 set up..i also run with no servo.

Nought wrong with S brakes. Never had fade, loose the dust covers for better cooling, Don't use EBC pads(shite), rover standard unipart do the job fine for road/mild track. go for mintex race for full chat racing.

I use the brakes VERY hard on the circuit and will do a set of new front pads in before the day is out.

Minispares do some reasonably priced alloy four pots to go under tens.

Oh and by the way the hubs are the same for 8.4 and the 7.5 S set up.

I'm running 'S' setup on Green stuff as well, and don't have any problems.

Don't have a servo either, but can see how it would be nice as you do need to use your legs a fair bit to get it to stop!

Not a problem usually for a fat bloke like me, but I just bust my ankle falling 8' while pissed, so the mini's staying in the garage for a while :(
