OK,
Collecting all my bits from eBay etc., I have finally got an elbow (two actually!) but how are they attached to the turbo?
The three attachments are obviously three different lengths but were they originally studs/nuts or bolts?
And does anyone still supply them (I've searched MiniSpares and can't find them)?
They were apparently a high grade alloy steel (It took me 2 hours to carefully drill a broken one out of my spare wastegate housing and it wasn't a normal high tensile bolt/stud for sure) but what were they?
Or what do people use nowadays instead?

they were bolts originally, no idea of the grade but at least one was guaranteed to snap if you looked at it.

Not sure it makes any difference if you use studs or bolts, the elbow on my T2 is held on with studs and nuts.

I think they were stainless bolts, however I don't think they were anything special, by nature of where they are the extreme heat cycling makes the steel go as hard as rock, this is why they are a cunt to drill out.
Replace with anything a suitable size of a reasonable grade and you will be OK IMO.
