Looks the same as the one i tried out and using just the main bleed valve is fine, when the t-piece was connected it over boosted like mad. It has a ball and spring in it, the idea being to stop air leakage until the correct boost pressure is reached to in theory give less lag. Did not work for me but main bleed vavle is fine.
