I am a bit bored with the performace of my 1275cc engine. It has a stage 1 kit and is a good engine. unknown milage but i'm sure its low.

is is eigher the 8.8:1 or the 8:1 I think

Is it possible to dial any more advance in, or am i already at the limit at 11 degrees btdc, 1500 rpm no vac advance? (vac reconected once timed)

It has only got to last till the summer when i plonk the turbo in but I could really do with a little more go.

Any input welcome.

Just nip up the dizzy and go for a drive. Advance it a bit at a time until you here pinking, then back it off a bit.

This is the method I used for years before I bought the MS (never melted any pistons)

Thanks for that.

What does pinking sound like? or will you know once you hear it. my guess would be a rattle, but I am unsure.

It's like a metallic knocking sound. If you have straight cut drop gears it can be difficult to hear.
